I purchased this item a few months ago. I chose this product over others mainly because I felt it was the most aesthetically appealing of the (generally unattractive) dehydrators out there. However, I have found it to be a great product for functional reasons as well. I use it intermittently for dehydrating fruits, nuts, and various raw food recipes. It works well for everything. I like that it has variable temp (lo, med, high) settings, and the fact that it has to be turned off manually (no timer) is not a problem for me. I just reduce the temperature if, for example, a specific item needs to be dehydrated for 6 hours on high, but I won't be home for at least 8 hrs. to turn it off. The parts are easy to clean in the dishwasher. Highly recommended.
