Customer Review: Great fryer for the price

After much research I decided on this fryer. It was the largest capacity with the best reviews I could find short of moving to a commercial fryer (the 220v variety). My wife and I have used it for approximately 2 years. In short the fryer is TOP NOTCH. We use it primarily for buffalo wings and have made literally 1000's of wings in it since we bought it. It is not a problem to fit about 20-25 of the frozen wing sections in at one time. It cleans up easily and most of the components (lid, strainer basket, and oil resevoir) go into the dishwasher and clean up nicely. The heating element also cleans up fairly easily with dish soap and water in the sink. I'd agree with the previous reviewer who mentioned a couple crevices that are a little tricky to clean (around the heating element and the overflow channel around the edge of the unit) but all in all these spots really aren't that bad. In fact we use it so often now that we seldom put it away between uses. The only problem we've had with the unit was with the receptacle that the breakaway cord plugs in to (problem with one of the pins). I think this was due to some rough handling on our part and was an easy repair never the less. We have also used the unit for home made french fries and other things from time to time and everything has come out fine. If we get another fryer it would only be to upgrade to a commercial variety. We got ours from Amazon new, so I cannot comment on the re-manufactured unit, but as another reviewer has pointed out, there really is not that much to remanufacture on these. In short I'd say that for $79.99 and free shipping (current price of the remanufactured unit here) you won't be disappointed.
