Customer Review: Very Solid Grinder for the Money

As several other reviewers have said, this grinder is a very good deal for its price point. I've used it to grind Chicken, Pork and Beef and all have come out fantastic. As some have complained about jamming it really isn't a case of the grinders fault but rather of the meat. When grinding any kind of meat you must have it as cold as possible. It essentially should be almost frozen. If the meat begins to warm up, it will start to clog no matter what you do. This is pretty much the case with everything save for the huge industrial grinders so care must be taken before you grind meat in the first place.
Anyhow, as I mentioned before, grinding was smooth if a bit slow. I had no feeding or jamming problems whatsoever.
My only issue with this device is using it to stuff sausages. This grinder requires you to put a cutting plate before loading the sausage tube. Unfortunately if you're making any kind of emulsified sausage or if you've mixed a lot of extra ingredients into the meat mixture, this often leads to annoying clogging issues, even on the coarse cutting plate (which is what the manual recommended to use). Essentially if you're planning on stuffing sausage with this device, take care to keep your ground meat mixture as cold and dry as possible. If the ground meat mixture is excessively moist you're going to get excessive smear issues when it has to pass through the cutting plate.
All in all, a solid purchase for the money. Just get another device to stuff sausage instead of this one, you'll thank me later.

Suitable for home use, the machine grinds beef for tacos, turkey for burgers, and pork for sausage, as well as non-meat items like vegetables and fruit. Powered by a 150-watt motor, the grinder has a durable die-cast metal hopper and brushed stainless-steel housing. It comes with three separate cutting plates to let you set the grind for the task at hand. Use the fine plate for baby food and hamburger, the medium plate for relishes and soup meat, and the coarse plate for vegetables or chunky ground. Operation of the grinder is simple, and the clearly marked on/off panel includes a reverse function that helps retrieve clogged food. The reverse toggle must be held down so you cannot accidentally leave it engaged. Although the grinder may not have the hard-wearing qualities of all-metal models, the plastic used in its construction is both spare and durable.
