Customer Review: Golden brown every time!

I've been shopping for a waffle maker for over a year now, but just now decide to plunge. I wanted something simple but yet need to cook well on both side. I also need to make more than one at a time. This seemed like a good choice, given good reviews so I purchased one.
It's been a few days since I received it. First the look: the brush stainless steel looks real nice in the kitchen counter. It looks like a heavy duty industrial unit that is made for home use. A+ on the looks.
The first few times I've tried, I was not very consistent in batter thickness. Sometimes I added more water, sometimes more syrup blending in, sometimes less oil into the mix, but each time it turned out golden brown! Now while it stays golden brown, you should remove it as soon as possible after it beeps. As I found out, the golden brown start to penetrate entire inner waffle within 15 minutes! This could be because I use a mix from supermarket that doesn't require me to mix in an egg, and doesn't show egg as an ingredient... I'm going to try other mixes that have egg in it, or mix my own and see what happens and will provide an update.
The grid iron plates don't come off as other reviewers indicated. But wiping down is simple. All in all it's a good appliance if you have family members that love Belgian waffles and you need to make more than one frequently.
UPDATE: tried waffle mixes with whole egg in it, and the breading definitely is better and doesn't get crisped on the inside too quickly. I also misread the instruction, thinking I needed 3 minutes on both sides. So now everything is super. It's only golden brown and crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. As I'm getting better at it, I now can integrate it into my weekday morning rushes. Before dressing my kids for school, I would quickly mix the batter with water and let it sits. When kids are ready to put on their shoes, I start cooking. After putting kids in the car in the garage (4 minutes later), the first waffle is done. I take first one out, and split it between my two young kids. Then I go back to flip and take out the second one for myself. Everyone can have a hot waffle in the car en route to school!
